Kolkata is known for its Metro rail service that took almost 20 years to get completed. This metro rail service paved way for some other metro train services in different parts of the country like Delhi Metro and Mumbai Metro. The trams of the Kolkata are another attraction that you must see. This tram network is the oldest in Asia.

Victoria Memorial is one of the best examples of British Architecture in India. This place was commissioned Lord Curzon to mark the visit of the Prince of Wales in 1921. Many historian believe that this place was an attempt to replicate the Taj Mahal by the British.

Outram Gardens is situated on the riverfront of Ganga. These gardens provide you some of the best views of the Howarh Bridge.

Howrah Bridge or Vidyasagar Setu is another place of interest for the visitors coming to Kolkata. This bridge was built across the river Hooghly and is one of the oldest bridges in India. On one side of the bridge is the GPO which is known for its style of architecture. On the other side is the Writer's Building which is a massive Gothic building that has a number of Ionic pillars.
