Attractions of Agartala
Ujjayanta Palace: This is the most popular palace of Agartala. This palace was built by Maharaja Radha Kishore Manikya during the late 19th century. This mansion is known for its mixed style of architecture that has more than three domes. The highest of them is 86 meters high. The floor of the palace has been decorated beautifully with colourful and magnificent tiles. The palace is surrounded by the Mughal gardens on all its sides. This palace now houses the State Legislative House of Agartala.
Neermahal Water Palace: This water palace was built during the mid-20th century. This palace was built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Debbarman. This palace is known for the fusion of Hindu and Muslim style of architectures. This palace stands in the middle of Ratnasagar Lake which covers more than 6 square kilometres.
Jagannath Temple: This is a popular Hindu temple that was built during the 6th century. This temple is known for its pillars that are in the shape of a square and a cone.
Ravindra Kanan: This is a Raj Bhawan that is situated in the southern part of the state. This place was built by Maharaja Bir Bikram Kishore Manikya. The king was fond of many palaces and temples. This place was built in the honour of Rabindranath Tagore. Many of his literary works and other creations have been kept here.
